If you want to buy the new AirPods Pro, make sure that your remaining hardware runs with the latest software.

If you don’t mind that AirPods Pro only last two years, you should at least check the compatibility of your remaining hardware. Apple states that Mac must run under macOS 10.15 Catalina, iDevices under iOS 13 and Apple Watches under watchOS 6. So if you still run a Mac under Mojave for stability reasons, you can’t connect your AirPods Pro there. iPhones with iOS 12 that are still in use are also excluded (similar to Apple’s ban on connecting new Apple Watches to these iPhones).

The AirPods Pro require the latest operating systems.

Even if you still have an Apple Watch running under watchOS 5, you can’t use the new ear plugs. So check first if you can update all the devices in question and what consequences this will have for your ecosystem.
