Security updates for iOS 12 to 14, watchOS 5 to 7 and macOS 10.15

iOS 12.4.9 Update

There is an important security update for many operating system versions.

Apple closes major security gaps with security updates of all still supported operating systems. Therefore there are also updates for older iOS and watchOS system versions.

In the worst case, the security holes make it possible to take over a device remotely. So you should install the updates as soon as possible (for iOS and iPadOS users there are also some new emojis included). If you’re interested in the details, here are the links to Apple’s listings, which security holes have been closed:

Even for the Apple Watch there are still updates for three older system versions. This is due to the fact that Apple prohibits the use of new Apple Watches on old iPhones (this is only possible with older Apple Watches). Only if this pairing already exists, it can still be used – only then with the old software versions.

Also macOS Catalina 10.15 has got a security update – it is called a supplemental update and should find its way to your Mac.
