Apple has updated all operating systems. There are extensive security updates to the following versions:
- iOS and iPadOS 13.6
- macOS 10.15.6
- watchOS 6.2.8
- tvOS and HomePod 13.4.8
In addition, there are the security updates for older systems. So the previous version of iOS gets an update to 12.4.8 and also macOS High Sierra and Mojave can be updated.
The newest of the mentioned systems also bring some new features. For iPhone and Apple Watch the most interesting one is probably the Digital Car Key. With it, appropriately supported vehicles can be opened with the iPhone. As we have already written here, this may even be a bit more complicated than the normal radio key, but sharing the virtual car key with others is a fantastic possibility.
In addition, Apple News+ now offers audio stories, just like many other publications do. Maybe this will give the service a little boost. The service is probably not as well received as Apple had hoped.
In System Preferences, there is now a handy new option: The ability to distinguish between downloading updates and installing them. So far there was only one option that covered everything. Now you can let the iPhone download and then decide for yourself when to install the updates.
