Until now, Apple’s repair policy was clear: if there is a third-party battery in the iPhone, the repair must be refused – even if the defect has nothing to do with the third-party battery. That’s changing now.

As the French site igen.fr first reported (via 9to5mac) is a built-in battery that does not come from Apple now no longer a reason not to get repairs on other components of the iPhone. So Apple opens up a bit here. The first step towards a more repair-friendly policy was the release of displays from a third-party manufacturer. These also no longer lead to a refusal to repair.

However, the note remains that Apple does not work on devices where other components such as the case, the Lightning port or the microphone have been replaced. In this case, Apple will still not be able to provide service. The bottom line, however, is that this is a pleasing approach by Apple to keep older devices functional.
