If you work a lot with Final Cut Pro X and perhaps have an external graphics card (eGPU) on your MacBook Pro to speed things up, we’ll show you here how to turn on support.
Apple gives two possibilities an. Firstly, you can connect an external monitor to this eGPU (already connected to an external graphic) and run Final Cut Pro on it.
Or, for example, if you want the acceleration but want to continue working on your internal display, just set your preferred GPU. This is how it works: Search your programs folder for Final Cut Pro and click on it once. Then press command + I. A small info window opens where you can select the external graphics card as preferred. Somewhat backwards, but it works. Only limitation: this option only works with 10.14 Mojave.
