How to: Setting up Dynamic DNS (DDNS) for DrayTek and FritzBox
DDNS makes it possible that your router with changing IP is still reachable from on the road. Here we show you how to set up the service for the FritzBox and DrayTek routers quickly.
DDNS for DrayTek Router setup
Just make it easy and activate DrayTeks DDNS Service under Wizards > Service Activation Wizard (create a new account). If you already have a DDNS service the better.
Then go to Applications > Dynamic DNS and switch on "Enable Dynamic DNS Setup" and an account. Then click on the account number to set up your DDNS service. If you use DrayDDNS, the address should be filled in automatically as you created it. Also define for which connections the DDNS should be valid, usually the first one, i.e. WAN1. If you use another DDNS service from the list, then log in there with the corresponding name and password.
Done! Your DrayTek is now available at your DDNS internet address.
Set up DDNS for the FritzBox
Prerequisite for the Fritzbox is that you have created an account under Internet > MyFritz! account. In the settings you can see your MyFritz! address, which looks like this: xxxxxxxxxxxx.myfritz.net. With this your FritzBox is reachable from the internet with changing IP (DDNS).
