Today we tell you about a very rare phenomenon in MacBook Pro displays: melted pixels.
Also colloquially called “exploded pixels”, it is the fact that one or more pixels are in a faulty manufacturing state, which leads to too much current flowing at the corresponding location, too much heat being generated and the pixels being destroyed. This does not necessarily have to be due to external damage, it is probably a problem during the manufacturing process. Therefore, new devices are often affected by this phenomenon. In this case a brand new 13″ MacBook Pro.
This error is relatively easy to recognize: You see a black spot on a white background. As usual, the first consideration is to wipe it off carefully – but that’s exactly what won’t work. You can feel an elevation, but you can’t remove the black spot, after all it’s the display itself that has produced this spot through heat development.
So go directly to Apple in such a case, report the damage and have a new display installed. In general, you don’t have to worry about this, this problem is extremely rare and rather classified in the category “interesting”.
