Apple seems to be serious about providing support even for older devices: After a watchOS 6 update came out now also the watchOS 5 version is maintained further.
This is necessary because Apple Watches require an iPhone with at least iOS 13 for watchOS 6 – but it won’t run on older iPhones like iPhone 6. Here the Smartwatches must remain on the watchOS 5 branch. Apple now also maintains more than one version and releases a update to 5.3.3. This at least also closes the security gaps for old devices, even if there are no function updates.
