The Studio Display was sold to the first customers by Apple in an immature state. The webcam only offered below-average quality and there were also frequent problems with the sound reproduction: it failed or was reproduced with distortion.
The webcam quality was already more or less worked on with the first updates, in the event of sound failures you had to unplug the studio display and wait ten seconds – the old-fashioned way. That should now be the end of it: according to Apple, the update to 15.5 clears up the sound problems. The Studio Display should now attain the status of a mature product.
You can find the update in System Preferences > Software Updates if you have at least a Mac with macOS 12.4.
