If you thought that remote controls were immune to updates, you were wrong: even the little helpers now get updated software.
In the case of the Siri Remote of the current Apple TV, the version changes from 9M6336 to 9M6772. What has changed, however, is not known. In addition, you cannot trigger the update manually. Apple simply lets the update be transferred automatically from the Apple TV in a quiet minute without a hint on the remote. This is absolutely sufficient for most users in everyday life, why should you worry about it.
The nerds among us will be happy to know that even remote controls can be updated. Maybe there will even be a hacker who exploits this fact with a bit of creativity and makes a small project out of it.
