The 31st Worldwide Developers Conference will take place from 22 to 26 June. The meeting for developers will be the largest ever, with 1000 Apple developers expected to attend.
Better developer support, change of CPU architecture
As always, the future of software at Apple is at stake, so better care should be taken of the developers. In this context, of course, the presentation of new hardware is always expected. This year, rumour has it that this will be a new iMac. The front view of the current model is now eleven years old and it’s time for something new. Of course we hope for something similarly stylish as the Pro Display XDR. In addition, mechanical hard disks should finally be a thing of the past.
Especially interesting is the change of the CPU architecture at Apple. Apple will change from Intel processors to their own processors based on the ARM layout. These are already very fast and are built into iPhones and iPads. Now the step to use these chips in the Macs should be made slowly. We assume that this change will start with a small Mac, a new introduction of the 12″ MacBook for example. That this new architecture will be used in the iMac is still doubtful. But in ten days we know more, so stay tuned!
