Apple has updated the video editing applications. Besides many bugfixes, it is especially important to keep your content accessible.
The most important point of the updates is that your content is kept readable for future versions of macOS coming after Mojave. iMovie and Final Cut Pro scan your data for this and rewrite it if necessary so that you are on the safe side also with coming updates. It’s a kind of preparation for the foreseeable future.
The utilities Motion and Compressor also look over it, but apparently only mark the corresponding content. In any case, it’s not a bad idea for long-term planning to install updates and check your own data once (with a previous backup :)).
