Since Apple (currently) no longer manufactures its own display, you are dependent on other manufacturers when it comes to an external monitor. We have selected the most interesting ones in different categories.
Apple sells a 4K and 5K display by LG, but it wasn’t developed by Apple and wasn’t designed. But that doesn’t have to be a disadvantage: there are very good monitors from many manufacturers that fit your Mac.

We have also taken care to find suitable monitors for the connections of Macs of different generations. So it doesn’t matter if you need a monitor that can be connected via DisplayPort or if you’re looking for a monitor with Thunderbolt 2, 3 or USB-C: we’ll tell you what fits and what you need to look out for (sometimes the year of manufacture of the MacBook is also important for a port).
