Apple has given us two new iPad models: a new iPad Air and an updated iPad mini.
The iPad mini in 7.9″ and the new iPad Air in 10.5″ are equipped with the A12 Bionic chip, which is also currently being shipped with the iPhone Xs. This gives you all the computing power you need. Especially for the iPad mini this is a welcome adaptation. In addition, the display used now is up to 25% brighter.
At 10.5″, the new iPad Air is slightly larger than the cheaper already existing 9.7″ model, which also only comes with an A10 chip. It’s faster and bigger and also has a thinner case. So it’s understandable that Apple has reactivated the name “Air” for an iPad.
The new iPad Air as well as the iPad mini with the performance update support input with the Apple Pencil – but only that of the first version. Now all available iPads are suitable for the Pencil, the Pro models for the Pencil 2, the other models can handle the Pencil of the first generation.
The memory configurations of the iPads include 64 and 256 GB, a 128 GB version or even smaller memory configurations are no longer available.
