Apple has now unlocked the electrocardiogram (ECG) function on the Apple Watch for countries in Europe and Hong Kong.
Until now the function of the ECG with the Apple Watch was only available in the USA and a few other countries, now it is also possible in Hong Kong and many European countries. The function is released with the latest watchOS 5.2 update. The ECG app has been provided with a CE mark and is thus approved in the European Economic Area.
If you open the app on the Apple Watch and touch the crown with the other hand, the device is able to recognize signs of atrial fibrillation, the most common form of irregular heart rhythm, and record the data so that you can turn to your doctor. The measurement takes only 30 seconds.
