Silently and secretly Apple has made the smallest USB-C power supply a little stronger.
It got exactly one watt more power. This means that the power supply, which is the charging option for the 12-inch MacBook and iPads, is perhaps a forerunner of Apple’s upcoming wireless charging pad. The base called AirPower should be able to charge several devices at the same time and therefore needs a lot of power.
Maybe this one watt was missing to run stable and Apple decided to bring a stronger power supply to the market before the charger comes along in some time. If you don’t want to wait until then, but are still looking for a nice Qi capable charging option in Apple design, you can have a look at our instructions for DIY.
