Apple has released iOS 13.2 and updated the HomePod software to 13.2. You should not install it under any circumstances.
If you reset the HomePod after installation it is simply broken. The software has a bug that causes the smart speaker to malfunction. Apple has already acknowledged the bug and withdrawn the update. But if you downloaded it yesterday and want to install it now – just leave it and wait. If you have already installed the new version, do not reset the HomePod and wait for the next update. It seems that the quality problems that have already been shown under Catalina are now spreading to the Apple speaker as well.
However, the promised features are great: Handoff is introduced and the HomePod will be able to distinguish the voices of different family members. But it’s worth waiting a little longer.
