If you’re looking for an alternative to iMovie but don’t want to go straight to Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, you might like the video editing software simply called VN.
Surprisingly, the program, which is provided free of charge by the network supplier Ubiquiti, offers an interesting alternative to iMovie. When using it, you quickly get the impression that it is a freshly thought layout that accommodates all the features well without being too limiting or overwhelming. Actually something that could have been expected from Apple.
You can also use the 0.6 version on the Mac, for the mobile devices the apps have been around a bit longer. Anyway, we are happy that there is now a new very good and so far free solution between iMovie and Final Cut. It remains to be seen how the software will develop and whether it will be charged at some point.
But if you have been looking for an alternative to iMovie because you find the software too restrictive, then just try VN before you invest significantly more money for even more professional software.
