New Fritz!OS 7.50 released – first for the 7590

New functions for all Fritzboxes

AVM maintains its routers for a very long time and thus always keeps security high. With the new Fritz!OS 7.50, there are not only mandatory updates, but new features are also introduced, even for the aging classic 7490.

However, the update cannot yet be downloaded directly for all Fritzboxes – for now, the new version is only available for the 7590, but the versions for the other models should be delivered soon.

In terms of new features, the new operating system brings better functions for the DECT Smart Home it as well as better mesh control, which should bring WLAN speed and reliability. Especially interesting is the Wireguard support, which offers easy setup and high VPN speed. That AVM even gives old devices such a new feature is commendable.

So if you don’t own a 7590 but a different model, you’ll have to wait a bit for the installation. But as we all know, anticipation is the best joy.

After only a few quarters of beta testing … many of my reported bugs and feature requests are still unfixed.
I don’t remember how many times over the last few years (and F!OS revisions) I have requested that the channel width can be selected manually.

With the next lab (beta) run, AVM has confirmed Matter support, so I’m looking forward to it 🙂
