Apple has updated the Apple TV 4K and now equips it with the A15 chip. There are now two storage variants: 64 and 128 GB, and the price has dropped overall.
However, Apple differentiates the two models more in terms of features and no longer just storage capacity: the small model only comes with WLAN. It lacks the Ethernet port. It is also no longer possible to use it as a HomeKit hub (Apple Home Hub in the future), because it does not come with thread support. Apple probably assumes that you have a HomePod mini in the household anyway, which brings Thread with it anyway.
For many people who only use streaming services anyway, the 128 GB of the larger model is usually oversized. However, since the device has become a bit cheaper, you can cope with the savings. It is interesting that Apple does not pursue the opposite strategy and pushes smart home wherever they can.
There was also a small change in the remote control, but it predicts the future for all Apple devices that have not yet been converted: The Lightning port has given way to USB-C.
