Apple has released the latest version of the iPhone operating system iOS. Version 16 can now be installed.
This is compatible with all iPhones from the iPhone 8, the iPhone 7 and older are excluded and stop at iOS 15. Apple will likely continue to provide security updates, as it has already done with devices running iOS 12.
iOS 16 brings a new customizable home screen and Matter Support in the Home app. However, before you update to the latest version here, you should check whether your entire infrastructure can really handle the new standard. You can stay with the established HomeKit for the time being.
The Apple Watch with watchOS 9 and the Apple TV with tvOS 16 also get new software. The changes here are initially minor. However, one can hope for better stability in the Smart Home area if the Apple TV is used as a hub.
The Mac gets a new macOS version with 12.6. So you can do an update marathon today.
