Sometimes you just need a good router with LTE connection. It gets even better if you know right from the start that there are regular software updates. And if that piece of technology even looks good, it can find its way into your own home.
MikroTik fulfils exactly the above mentioned criteria. The model called “hAP ac3 LTE6 kit” comes with a category 6 LTE modem and can thus achieve download speeds of 300 Mbit/s and 50 in upload. The router also offers ac WLAN with up to 867 Mbit/s and of course a 2.4 GHz radio unit. Five gigabit ports are available for wired devices, and there is also a USB 2.0 port for external devices.
The router is based on Qualcomm’s 4 core IPQ-4019 SoC with 716 MHz and should have enough power for all applications. Flash memory is specified as 16, RAM as 256 MB. The nice thing about MikroTik routers is the operating system RouterOS, which gets regular updates. This sets the MikroTik models clearly apart from other manufacturers who simply let the support expire at some point.
