Apple has released a new update of macOS, which provides News+ support and some important improvements for everyday use.
As we already wrote here, Apple’s new News+ service is only available in the USA, the rest of the world still has to wait.
But macOS 10.4.4 is still worth it – not only because of all the security updates. First of all, musicians should be pleased that Apple has taken care of the problem with external USB audio devices. There were problems with audio interfaces and audio dropouts from time to time, apparently the T2 chip has spun in between. This circumstance should be fixed now.
Also pleasant for everyday use: Safari now has a dark mode that displays the website you’ve visited. Choosing the right colors for a dark display is a bit complicated, but the new Safari version should now have that under control.
Apple also released security updates for Sierra and High Sierra.
