Apple has set the status of the MacBook Pro Retina model from 2012 in 15 inches to “vintage” – and thus no longer offers repairs.
The Mid 2012 model is thus about five and a half years old, as it was sold until February 2013. The 13″ model called “Late 2012” is not yet listed – perhaps your last chance to have it officially repaired before it gets listed.
But of course you don’t have to despair: the internet is full of spare parts and if you don’t dare to help yourself with a defect, there are enough independent repair shops that can help you.
