The i9 processor in the new MacBook Pro model could get very hot in first tests and then throttle their performance. Apple found says it has been a software bug and released an update.

This is why we love Apple: good support. In a lot of reviews of the 2018 MacBook Pro one issue was persistent: the i9 CPU was throtteling and therefore not delivering its best performance. Rumors went, that the cooling was not good enough and that older 2017 would be better for constant workloads.

It turned out, however, that it was just a software glitch. Apple found the problem, apologized to all users and immediately released an update, which is available here or via the Mac App Store. It is a supplemental update and only available for the new Touch Bar models.

After installing, the throttling issue is gone. You now have full performance all day long. As expected. Perfect.
