The small program app offers a perhaps strange function at first sight, but is still practical in everyday life: it transforms websites into Apps.
This means that a desired Internet address is not opened in another one of your thousand tabs, but exclusively in its own window. The procedure is similar to the Netflix and YouTube music app that we recently introduced here.
The approach is very simple: Just enter the desired URL, enter a name, done. Fluid creates an app on your desktop that you can drag to your application folder – and from there to the Dock.
If you then open the app, the desired website will be opened – but in a new window. From there you can surf around as desired. Outgoing links are opened in you standard browser. You can also set Fluid to open links in the app window. The option can be found under Settings > Whitelist.
