The benchmarks for the 2018 MacBook Pro models are in and prove: the new versions are significantly faster than those from 2017.
Measurements were performed by Primate Labs with Geekbench 4. The 13″ models equipped with quad-core processors are so fast that they can compete with the 15″ models from the previous year. So if you’ve always wanted a smaller MacBook Pro that still delivers quad-core performance, you’re good to go. Compared to the previous dual-core processors (still used in the basic model), performance has increased by more than eighty percent.
Word has probably already got around that the larger 15″ model now contains at least one 6-core processor. Its two more cores and the switch to DDR4 RAM lead to over 40% higher performance compared to the predecessor, the graphics is around 30% more powerful. The conversion to CPUs with more cores has also paid off in this model. If you need sheer computing power, you can look forward to the six fast calculating friends.
