The magazine has placed Apple 17th in its own ranking of the 50 most innovative – after last year’s first place.
Apple praised the A12 Bionic Chip. Fast Company writes about it:
Apple’s most impressive new product of 2018 wasn’t a phone or a tablet, but a chip: the A12 Bionic. Debuting in last case’s iPhones, it’s the industry’s first processor based on a seven-nanometer manufacturing process.
And it’s true: Apple’s own chip development is outstanding and the computing power fantastic. The first usage scenarios for the high computing power and the machine learning that this makes possible are, for example, image recognition and the various filters when taking photographs. Fast Company didn’t not find that innovative enough though.
The places ahead of Apple are primarily service providers and service platforms.
