Apple didn’t say a word about battery life when they introduced the new iPhone 12 series. So it is of course all the more interesting to know how this is going to work.
It is now known that the new iPhones have a smaller battery than the previous generation of the 11 series. On YouTube you can find a detailed runtime comparison of current iPhones.
The result is not bad but also a bit sobering: both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro have a much worse battery life than the iPhone 11 Pro (and of course the 11 Pro Max even more so). Between 11 Pro and 12 Pro is about an hour! It should also be mentioned that in this test the iPhones were only in WLAN – so any higher power consumption due to the new 5G technology did not take place. This should still be added in everyday life.

But there is also positive news: the iPhone 12 lasts over 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 11. And that is a huge increase. In addition, the iPhone 12 models are still over six hours in this test, which is anything but bad – just worse than the excellent iPhone 11 Pro variants.

Now you have an overview of the battery life of the different models. If this factor is very important to you in everyday life, it probably depends on which smartphone you want to switch from. If you come from an iPhone 11, the battery life will be much better with an iPhone 12. If you come from an 11 Pro and switch to a 12 or 12 Pro, you will lose on average one hour of battery life.
