Baseus has a very interesting Thunderbolt 3 Hub in the offer for all users of a MacBook Pro with four Thunderbolt 3 ports. The special thing about it: the hub consists of two parts: One element is plugged into the two USB-C ports on the left and one into the two on the right. So that we can lift the MacBook Pro a little at the back at the same time.
Baseus advertises the article with the words “designed for MacBook Pro 2016 – 2020 and MacBook Air 2018 – 2020” but it should be clear that the MacBook models that only have two USB-C ports on the left side are not really suitable for this product – unless you then put a book or something similar underneath on the right. For all four-port Thunderbolt-3-MacBooks, however, this idea seems to be quite well thought out.

The technical data also promise to be useful. Thus, besides two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which promise 100 watts of power delivery, the full 40 GBit/s speed and 5K video output, the following connections are included (in total for both elements):
- HDMI Port (4K with 30 Hz, 1080p with 60 Hz)
- USB-C port with 5 Gbit/s only for data
- 3x USB-A 3.0 Ports
- Gigabit Ethernet
- 3.5 mm audio jack with microphone input
So in total, you make the four Thunderbolt 3 ports of MacBook Pro with the Hub nine outputs, which you can use much better in real life. In addition, construction is something different and very interesting for desktop use.
Surprisingly, the price of the Thunderbolt 3 capable hub has remained quite manageable: Baseus calls about $55 for it. For that price we also forgive that the marketing promises a bit to much and promotes it also for models with two Thunderbolt 2 ports – but you know now to make your own decision.
