Anyone who has used the Parallels Desktop Lite version available in the Mac App Store to virtualize macOS or Linux on their macOS will have to pay for it in the future.
Until now, the use for Linux or macOS was completely free of charge. You only had to pay if you wanted to virtualize Windows. This also led us to the instructions on how macOS can virtualize on macOS, for example, because you need a test system.
But from now on you have to pay for each guest system after the 14-day test phase and that in a subscription of almost 80 dollars per year. This is a big trap: For the same money, you can get the full version directly from Parallels. So the users who download directly via the App Store are penalized – year after year with a 100% surcharge. So watch out!
All those who need Linux and Windows as guest systems and are not dependent on the best performance can continue to access the completely free open source variant VirtualBox. Here we have a guide for you to install Windows 10 and Ubuntu on your Mac.
If it should be a payment program, have a look at VMware Fusion. This manufacturer at least tries not to lure you into a trap with a questionable subscription program.
