Not by Netflix themselfs, but by Daniel Farrelly, who, like you, did not want to come to terms with the current situation. Netflix supports many devices and platforms, including iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, of course, but Netflix love for supporting Apple’s computers does just not exist. Daniel has filled this gap and provides us his work for free on github.
The software does nothing else than what we wished for: we open the app and get a pure netflix without having to open the browser all the time. Great. And you can have open the small window next to your work… 😉 We finally found the best way to watch Netflix on the Mac. Have fun!
Alternative: Friendly Streaming
You can also find an app in the Mac App Store: Friendly Streaming. This app can not only handle the aforementioned streaming service, but also enables the use of YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, twitch TV, Hulu, HBO, Shotime and other services.
So now you have the possibility to use a free app, which you can even modify yourself if you like or download an app directly from the store, which also lets you watch Amazon videos. In any case, nothing stands in the way of your binge watching weekend.
