You want to connect two displays on one Thunderbolt 3 port? StarTech offers two new adapters for this purpose.

The adapters cost between 160 and 180 dollars and will be available soon. There are two variants: one is equipped with two DisplayPort ports as well as one USB 3.0 and one Gigabit Ethernet. Variant two offers two HDMI ports as well as USB 3.0, ethernet and an additional USB 2.0 port. This allows you to operate two monitors with 4K resolution on one TB 3 port.

Maybe you switched to a 5K monitor early on, which requires two DisplayLink connections like the Dell UltraSharp 27 UP2715K. That monitor could be operated with mentioned adapter and two DisplayLink cables at full resolution on a Thunderbolt 3 port.

Not all adapters are yet listed on Amazon, but the simpler variants that provide only dual display outputs are. So if you are satisfied with that, you can already buy them now. Little advantage: the price is a lot lower.

If you do not need two outputs, but would like to adapt from USB-C to DisplayPort for a modern monitor with up to 5K resolution, have a look at this cable .
