In the USA, a class action suit is filed against Apple.
The law firm Hagens Berman takes care of the fact that in some iMac models dust accumulates in the display. In addition, iMac and MacBook models are said to have performance limitations because the fans and coolers are clogged with dust.
This reminds us of the occasional occurrence of dust in the display of iMacs from 2011. After some time, you also saw dust in the display, which lay between the different light distribution foils. The problem back then was that the displays simply weren’t cleanly glued. Since the airflow passes unfiltered through the whole Mac, the display itself has to be dustproof. If that’s not the case, it looks the same as on the picture.
Carefully vacuum your iMac.
With regard to the limited performance of dusty computers, we can say from experience that this can happen. If you open a MacBook or an iMac, you will always vacuum out existing dust. Of course, this is not possible with the new glued devices. But even in a clean environment, some dust always accumulates. But most of the time it’s already done with a careful suction at the back of the ventilation slot of the iMac. With hot MacBooks you should remove the base plate and see if the fan is clean.
