If you are looking for a PoE security camera for a fixed installation, you will now find it at Instar.
PoE means Power over Ethernet and allows to supply the camera with power via the connected network cable (if the switch also provides this function, of course). As far as we know, the following Instar models are the first that can be powered via cable and are HomeKit compatible at the same time.
- Panasonic Full HD WDR Image Sensor (1920 x 1080p) with 90 Degree Wide Angle Lens
- Integrated Panasonic PIR thermal sensor and built-in microphone
- Supports HTTPS and FTPS encryption as well as memory cards up to max. 128GB
- Unique design! No more annoying connection cables, new sophisticated connection variant
- 3 seconds pre-recording (recording already 3 seconds before the alarm), so you miss "NOTHING"
HomeKit compatibility was introduced with the current update 3.2 and is available for all Full HD cameras. In the PoE range, this includes the models: INSTAR IN-9008, IN-8003 and IN-8015, and models connected via WLAN are also supported. Camera models that are only labeled with “HD”, i.e. without “Full”, are excluded. These cannot be integrated into HomeKit.
