Vodafone offers a small GPS tracker with an integrated rechargeable battery, which is said to provide up to seven days of operation.
The small device called Curve is compact enough to be used as a key ring. It supports the radio standards GPS, mobile radio, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth – the device falls back to the last two if no GPS is available, mobile radio is used to transmit the position data. This data can then be viewed in the corresponding app.
Therefore the small gadget also needs a mobile phone contract. A subscription for the first two years is already included in the purchase price of 90 Euro (planned) and 70 Euro (on Amazon). After that, a two-year contract for tracking costs just under two euros per month.
Since Vodafone operates globally, Curve can also be used anywhere in the world where there is mobile phone reception. According to Vodafone, about 90 countries are supported; compatible radio standards are GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800 and PCS1900.
The specified operating time of seven days can of course only be achieved by letting the device send a position signal only about every two hours. If it is supposed to be real time, the operating time decreases to about three days, which is still quite good. Also practical: The Curve is waterproof according to IP67, so it can survive for 30 minutes in one meter deep water.
So there should be enough applications for the Curve. If you want to get the device for the introductory price on Amazon, click the affiliate link. It will be delivered at the beginning of September.
