The small SSD with the dimensions of a credit card (a little thicker of course) can be connected to the Mac via USB-C cable. Samsung promises data rates of up to 1,050 MB/s read and 1,000 MB/s write – this should exhaust the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port completely. We are on the Thunderbolt 1 level – only much cheaper.
In practice, this means you can transfer 10 GB of 4K video in eight seconds – a nice time saver. The SSD is available in red, blue and grey.
Alternative models are the Samsung T7 Touch, which also comes with a fingerprint sensor. Those who don’t need these high speeds can choose the T5 model. It is slower, but also somewhat cheaper.
