Sometimes there are nice exceptions in the fast-paced computer world: for example when HP still supplies drivers for printers that are already 15 years old.
In this case it concerns our HP LaserJet 1010, which is still in use because only a few pages are printed per month and it still works. At first we were afraid that macOS Mojave would be the last supported macOS, but fortunately we thought wrong:
HP still offers drivers for old printers and that even on an extra download page (for modern printers see here).
Software support over decades. Because its possible.
This is something to be praised: support for a device that has been in use for two and a half decades – because it works. So if at any time you have a device in your hand that can’t be used after two years because the software doesn’t play along, always remember: there’s another way. Maybe you will include this factor in your next purchase decision.
