eve expands the HomeKit compatible smart home series with an air sensor.

The eve room element monitors indoor air quality, temperature and humidity. This makes it the ideal supplement for all those who react very sensitively to the room climate. Too damp and too dry air can thus be avoided directly.

Of course, this can be addressed via Siri thanks to the Home Kit compatibility and it goes without saying that the data can be retrieved in an app. Much better, however, is another feature of the small device: it has an eInk display. In other words, a screen that only consumes power when the status changes. This has two advantages: a long battery life, eve speaks of six weeks, and a display of current measured values such as temperature. Networking is important, but a quick glance at the device itself is sometimes easier.

The only disadvantage here is that Micro-USB is still used to charge the battery. So you don’t just connect the eve room on a MacBook USB-C charger. But why not, the older connector is probably a bit cheaper than the new standard. The device will be available from September 12th.
