The Razer Core series previously included the Core V2 graphics card enclosure, now there is a new variant that is larger, more powerful and – surprise – cheaper!
We already listed here which graphics cards and compatible cases Apple recommends, you can now add the Razor Core X to it. The well-known Razor Core V2 as well as the new X version are also compatible with Mac laptops with Thunderbolt 3.
Since a normal Thunderbolt 3 connection is used, you only need macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 with a compatible AMD Radeon graphics card as additional elements.
As an innovation, the Razer Core X features a larger design with a wider aluminum case to accommodate up to three slot-sized desktop graphics cards. Core X supports the recently released NVIDIA GeForce and NVIDIA Quadro PCIe graphics cards as well as AMD XConnect compatible Radeon and Radeon Pro cards.
For example, the following graphics cards are compatible with the Mac:
- AMD Radeon RX 570
- AMD Radeon RX580
- AMD Radeon Pro WX 7100
- AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
- AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
- AMD Vega Frontier Edition Air
- AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100
The Razer Core X case comes not only with larger dimensions and thus space for 3-slot graphics cards but also with a strong power supply: 650 watts can be burnt. Up to 100 watts can flow to the MacBook. This means even more power is available than Apple’s strongest external USB-C power supply, so there should always be enough juice available when gambling. Best advantage at the end: the Core X is with 300 Dollars significantly cheaper than the V2 version despite all the advantages! We will deliver a corresponding Amazon link upon availability.
