The RAM of the Mac mini can be upgraded cheaply and quickly, the modules are only plugged in. Especially for the still quite recent 2018 Intel Mac mini more RAM is worthwhile.
The exceptions concern all Apple Silicon Mac minis, since there the RAM is with in the chip as well as the 2014 model. Here, the RAM is soldered on.
