Mag Safe 1 to Magsafe 2 adapters
I recently bought my first (used) macbook air (Early 2015, 8GB, 128GB). I love it but will certainly be upgrading the SSD to a 1TB.
I've owned several macbook pros and have a bunch of extra chargers and was really happy to come across the magsafe adapter that let me use my old macbook pro magsafe 1 chargers with my new macbook air!
I found 2 two apple oem adapters with tethers, to keep them from getting lost, on ebay for $13.99 and free shipping. I bought a total of 4 and now all of my power adapters are interchangeable.
It's a great way to recycle old mac chargers.

Hi Gerald,
that is surely a good thing to make them last longer and avoid electronic waste. My oldest charger is from 2008 and still working.
If you are interested, we have a three interesting articles about the MagSafe chargers.
The first one is about how we think you should roll up the cable: https://macandegg.com/2017/03/wind-macbook-power-cord-correctly/
The second gives some tipps to reinforce the cable on certain points:

And a third is about which MagSafe power supply to buy, that features a picture of the MacSafe 1 to 2 adapter, for everybody that does not know how it looks: https://macandegg.com/2017/02/which-apple-power-supply-buy-one-makes-sense/
Thanks for your input!
Hi Stephan,
I've already checked them out. Keep up the good work.
I will suggest one more way to reinforce you mac charger cable. I bought heat shrink tubing. Cut two small length (1/2 inch), slid the over the magsafe input of the charger. slide one all the way to the charger brick and keep the second on the mag safe end. Then use a heat gun, though a good hairdryer might do the trick, to shrink the tubing down to the size of the charger cable to reinforce the ends of the cables. you could also use a lighter as a heat source but you'd have to be VERY careful not to burn yourself or the charger cord! I do this to my iphone cords and it has really extended the life of m cords and it makes my cords and chargers easily identifiable so no one accidentally grabs them
That is a good one, too! Thanks!
