Sometimes you get a disk that was formatted with the Windows file system NTFS and want to write more data on it? A small tool helps.

mounty app

A small tool is necessary because macOS can read NFTS media but does not want to write. But we can get around this limitation quickly and easily. We simply use the small tool Mounty for NTFS which you can find here.

mounty app ntfs macos

The small app is simply installed and nests at the top of the menu bar. As soon as you connect a disk to your Mac that is NFTS formatted, the Mounty logo will show you this fact. Then you get the possibility to mount the USB stick or the hard disk again and write. That’s it! So you don’t have to be angry anymore about colleagues who format everything in NTFS. 😉
